Description

The Building Service's Train-The-Trainer course is a comprehensive, official, directive driven course designed to enable students to provide building services personnel with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform their duties. Through lecture, discussion, hands-on demonstrations, assigned projects, and/or exercises, the learners acquire the ability to use, apply, and demonstrate proficiency in the following subject matter: • Training requirements, methods, and administration including preparation of selected training records. • Application of proper cleaning techniques as related to area and component cleaning operations, tasks, and procedures. • Cleaning supplies and equipment types, sources, usage/operation, safety, and minor maintenance. • Conducting housekeeping inspections and make recommendations for improvement. • OSHA, EPA, accident and fire prevention, hazard recognition and protection, lockout/Tagout requirements as applicable, and other safety-related programs, and requirements. • Location and application of informational and support reference materials. • Assuming responsibilities for creating safe and healthy work environments and for motivating personnel. • Reinforce the building services operation.

Learning Outcome

 Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

• Ability to properly train building services personnel.
• Knowledge and ability to perform housekeeping and safety inspections.
• Knowledge to determine employee training requirements and administer training.
• Knowledge of training record documentation.
• Ability to identify sources for and access OSHA, EPA, accident & fi re prevention, hazard recognition & protection, lockout/tagout, and other safety-related programs.
• Presentation skills to provide training lessons to building services personnel.
• Knowledge, skills & ability to apply proper cleaning techniques.
• Student will have access to reference materials, associated equipment and supply utilization.

Target Audience

Maintenance Management personnel who are assigned direct responsibilities for facilitating training of and supervising building services personnel. Note: Some after hours activities associated with this training may be required

Course Completion Requirements

Course attendance, participation and completion of hands-on exercises and projects.
