OSHA 501 - OSHA for General Industry

 

 

Description

This course is designed to present detailed information on how the provisions of the OSH Act may be implemented in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act, the appeals process, and record keeping are covered. OSHA's general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of the most frequently referenced standards will also be addressed. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are authorized to conduct both a 10-hour and 30-hour Voluntary Compliance course and to issue cards to participants certifying course completion.

 

Learning Outcome

 Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Have knowledge of OSHA Act and OSHA standards.
  • Have knowledge of 29CFR 1904 record keeping.
  • Identify common violations of OSHA standards and propose abatement actions.
  • Conduct internal training on OSHA regulations.
  • Have knowledge of CFR Part 1903/Inspections, Citations, and Penalties.
  • Have knowledge of safe hazardous energy and electrical work practices.
  • Have knowledge of machine guarding tools and techniques.

 

Target Audience

Safety and environmental, managers, facility safety coordinators, trainers, or other persons with safety responsibilities, Facility Instructor Workshop graduates who wish to teach the 10 or 30 hour classes.

 

Course Completion Requirements

Passing this course requires the student to: attend all training days and participate in all required tasks.
