FAQs

  • What is the Science on a Sphere (SOS)?

A completely unique meteorological study system, Science on a Sphere is an integrated computer and video system that projects a large animated globe monitoring a vast collection of planetary observations, such as storms, ocean temperature, and climate change.
  • Can I take a tour of the National Weather Center?

Without a tour, your visit will be limited to the 1st floor, with Science on a Sphere and Flying Cow Café. For a much more complete experience, visitors are recommended to schedule a tour 2-4 weeks in advance. This will give you exclusive access to the Roof Top Observatory, NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center, and the National Severe Storms Laboratory, among other places.
